A linguistic gold mine. A large corpus of modern English, software tools to manipulate and analyse the corpus data, and a team of specialist corpus linguists and lexicographers. The current corpus, known as the Bank of English runs to hundreds of millions of words. The site has links to idiom of the day, definitions games (60,000 fill-in-the-blank definitions), word banks on line in English, French and Spanish, huge reference corpus of English usage.
